85 and sunny in the Shak!

 With today’s warm temps, the Shak is toasty!

Awesome help in the woods this year!

 We couldn’t make syrup with our ‘sap collectors!’

Of course the trees ran......it's Easter weekend!

 We'll be cooking at the Shak tonight, Good Friday.

Leads to water leaking in the Shak as we heat-up!  We’ll be shoveling the roof tomorrow🍁

First boil of the season!

 It’s always exciting to get the steam rolling the first time of the season!  This is sap we collected on Thursday, but we didn’t quite have the stove ready for cooking. We’re ready now!!  Let the fun begin!

April Snow Showers

 We haven't posted in awhile because there hasn't been much happening.  We've made about 1/3 the syrup we usually make in a typical season, but we're holding hope that the lingering COLD temps could save a dismal season.  It looks like we may have one more week of potential sap producing days.....but our taps are approaching 5 weeks in the trees, which isn't ideal.  Only time will tell.
